"Leader and Boss" may have similar definitions, but do you know that a leader can be a boss while not every boss is a leader! That is because there are many differences between them. Just the term "leader" evokes more positivity than a "boss".
Leaders listen and speak rather than command. Bosses tend to give orders and their employees should listen and obey. But leaders share opinions and regard them as important. They advice, discuss, and give their colleagues positive feed backs. They motivate rather than terrify. Leaders teach and learn rather than expect and ignore.
A boss stays on the sideline and lets others do the hard work, while a leader is at the front of the pack and leads by example.

| A leader is believed to encourage by creating the footsteps to follow, however bosses demand the people work under them and pushes them to work harder. |
Actually, leaders are considered to be more effective compared to bosses. That is because the happier employees are, the more productive the are, resulting in more benefit for the company.

This is an extremely important issue! Thank you for highlighting it.
ReplyDeleteWe lack leaders these days! We all give commands, but it takes a real leader to know how to advise his "followers". A good leader shows his students the way, but doesn't take the steps for them. His job is to leave behind a group of trustworthy future leaders.
We as teachers have to make sure we lead by example. After all, it is our job to shape minds and create leaders!

you are welcome :)
ReplyDeleteMawaddah you are shedding light on one of the most important issues trending. People consider leaders as vulgar, or inferior, just because they collaborate with their followers which is completely wrong. That's why they resort for being bosses that oppress their followers.
ReplyDeleteAs teachers, we should preach our students the foundations of being effective leaders in their societies, not the other way round!
Off course Reem! We as teachers should highlight the difference between these two terms for our students, and lead them to the right way.
ReplyDeleteOnly a wise, kind, intelligent, caring, and humble person could make a good leader. Those who seek power and are careless about the needs of the people working with them could never be as good.
